when ever i would search power pro on ebay i would usually find some no name brand, made in china braid. it is way cheaper than any name brand and same diameter. has anyone ever tried them? would you trust it?

I wouldn't trust it.  The guy I striper fish with all the time has a friend that bought one from China, had it strength tested and it wasn't real Power Pro.  I have seen the same ones on there.  If you take a shot, you might get burnt.

Hell power pro has not been without its problems over the years, to go with a knock off I can only imagine the heart break stories that will result.

I have bought this stuff off eBay and have had no problems at all. Most if this stuff is made in the same place and re-packaged into brand names and sold. I have heard this from trusted guys in the business.

The main problem I've had with the ebay stuff is the time it takes to get here. I've ordered twice and one time it took about a 40 days and the other time it never showed up.
You put that line in the water and you don't know what's on the other end. Your imagination is under there...

What I can't understand people pay hundreds of dollars on rods & reels & they want to go cheap on the line they use!

Remember the only thing other than the hook that's between you & the fish is the line!

braid lasts so long it is worth buying good stuff.
i really like the p/p super slick 8 and saltiga braid

Samurai, best line I've ever used, expensive but worth every penny, bought it when it first came out and never looked back. Hate PP and all of it's problems, its hard to imagine that a knock off would be good.

Why buy expensive braid if your just learning to cast conventional gear? I would also rather pay less for the same product, if you could get it cheaper why not? I pay $13 for a 500 yard spool of Power pro from a guy in China, it took 6 weeks to arrive but what the hell, used it all season and never had a problem.
