I want to get a small boat to patrol the essex river when I do not want to take my boat out. I saw an ad for new pontoon (Green flat bottom boat) for just under $500. I was driving by the boatyard that is selling them and I am looking at them and my daughter starts to laugh. She asks me if I looked at how much weight the boat could hold? I said no, but the information would be listed and she pointed to the nameplate.

2 persons (which would be OK) or 180lbs! I laughed and we left. Who the heck makes a boat that can only handle 180lb of people or a whomping 250lbs of people + motor + equipment? If I lose an arm and a leg I would be able to use the boat

Just to clarify it was a jon boat not a pontoon boat. Thanks for the idea about the pontoons I will look into them.
