getting dizzy from all the so-called experts extolling their "can't miss" striper rigs. I have a 10' Star rod and Penn Battle 5000.....just want proven rigs......."simple is as simple does"

Have you tried one of the "expert's " rigs yet?
What you using & where are you fishing?

Fishing Bait i have much luck with a simple set up.  Fish finder + single 7/0 octopus hook on a 24inch leader with a barrel swivel and a 3 or 4 oz weight add your bait and you will catch fish!

Use the same thing as DonLBI with different lengths on the lower leader. Having the fish finder stuck between the two swivels makes it easier to cast IMO.

Sorry, I usually keep the top portion of leader at about 24" but will vary the bottom length from 9-18". Don't know why but the longer leader seemed to have more success last fall when chunking.

now the big question............the longer the snell leader I start to helicopter the rig.........is there a snap to use to keep snelled hook from swinging on cast
