Wow,
I had the same gun in 12ga. when I was a kid just starting out hunting. I was about 12 years old. Man, that thing bring back memories. When I turned 16 my dad up-graded me to the model 500 12ga. pump.
Nice gun.

Nice gun.

I've never seen a bolt action shotgun ... is it designed for what you describe ... entry level usage like a young beginning hunter?

I have a bolt action Marlin 12ga w/ a fully rifled barrel that I use as my deer gun. There are also a bunch of other manufacturers including Savage & Browning that produce bolt action slug guns. These guns are very accurate because of the action's solid lockup afforded by the bolt.

I shot my first ever Canada goose with a Harrington & Richardson 16g bolt action that dated from the late 40s, a gift from my brother-in-law, a RI native who used it in his youth.

Way awsome. If the California gun laws wern't so screwed up I would buy it in a heart beat. You shouyld have seen the vast amount of paper work i had to do to buy my Sig P229. I could only imagine what it would take to buy a gun out of state.
I really miss that old gun, mine had the Accu-chock system but not the ported barrel.
Someone buy it, its killing me
