I wonder what they weigh and who's making them?

Joystrick controls would totally screw me up.

At least in the beginning

"7 Marine"

Blown alum GM smallblock. To be unveiled at the Florida show.

My question would be how do you keep the LU from tearing itself up?

Gonna be a pretty penny, not a mass productions thing I would think.

7 Marine is correct. It is totally Legit.
It is a company "paired" with Intrepid, so there is no doubt they are "for real" about it.
Through research(not done by me) apparently it is a Merc. engine. Looking through patent names, business locations, they are built in the same town as Merc R&D, and the patent on the exhaust of the 7marine engine, and the Verado supercharger, are both the same name.
I have been told the lowers are beefed up Bravo3's, which are designed to handle 500 hp, without the beefing up.
Weight is supposed to be right around 1100 lbs.
All rumors I have heard. Nothing factual that I have researched myself.

I hear this is a Mercury project. Chief is right about the LU's they are beefed up BravoIII to handle 600 ponies.

Big thread over on THT about this.

Beautiful! I remember running 400hp on a sled up white water on the deschutes. This machine looks like a space ship engine. Did you say it was $90,000 ? or one 'millllion dollars" Must be awesome to see this thing lite up Man I know the old 300 09 was about 30,000. Hell I'll take two.

Two 500 horses for my mako 19 please

Pretty amazing stuff... My knee caps couldn't even afford these bad boys.

The weight would be my question as well. With all alloy parts it must be fairly light.

^Yeah, reported weight is 1100 lbs.
Means on something like a 38 fountain, that would hang trip 350, would get 1050 hp, with 805 lbs dry each, thats 2415 lbs dry, and 3 lower units worth of drag. If you went to twins in this application, you would have 2200 lbs dry, and 1120 HP, 5-blade props, and only 2 lower units hanging in the water.
I would think just about any boat being pushed with trips, would have a big benefit from only going with 2, less weight, and 1 would still run it up on plane.
I believe they are planning on Twins on the 35' Intrepid CC, which will REALLLLLLLY move it.
Now my one flaw I see, and I know that it doesn't mean anything to the guys with trip 300+ motors or more anyway, is that these are supercharged. The big complaint with the verado's, which are also super-charged, is that once you hit about 70% throttle, they REALLLLLLLy suck up the fuel. Thats on the 300 hp models. What do you think these will suck up? I think you're probably looking at HUGE fuel numbers. Wonder if they will compare with trip 350's? Or will they have to have added fuel capacity, therefore negating the weight savings?

I'm less impressed at 1100lbs. Good post, though.
