NJTramcar
Good thread for bay rod info. I tried talking to a B/T down the shore this summer and he tried to get me to buy a $270 rod for bay fluke. I told him my budget was much lower and he said this is the only setup that would work. Wish they understood that people know there are other options than their most expensive.
donvincenzo
I have been using $20 bass pro graphite freshwater bass rods for the last few years and have paired them up with calcutta 50's and 400's. With 20# pp and 50 # leader.
redfish12
I have the a few of the same rods, spinning and conventional. They are a great rod for the price and have held up great to kayak abuse. Pair it with a used Abu 5xxx or 6xxx (non highspeed and 6 if you want the clicker for livelining) and you're in business for about 50-75 depending on the reel you choose. Can't beat that!
