Just got back. Thursday (today) 12:00-6:00 PM Cat after cat after cat. A couple of small striper's too. Squid did the trick, that and casting WITH the tide so as not to snag. They really liked the tentacles. I had liver, but they only stole it. Did not bite much on the Herring.

Because of the many rocks, I tied the pre-tied hooks directly to the line above the sinker. 5 oz for the strong tide. A couple of the cats went three pounds. Fine for hot, nasty weather and from the shore.

From12" up to about 3# One of the bigger ones got me with his sharp spine. Saw a few bald eagles. It was hot, but nice.

I would like to go back this week. Want to live-line a perch during the spill water slow-down. Big cats show up here all the time.

Perch were not biting as much as the Cats. I caught a couple Rock's but they were about 15" not keepers. Hopefully, going back tomorrow. Got a new conventional reel I want to try out.

I wasn't fishing for them specifically, but I got them on herring. I did not notice anyone else doing that good. There is a different technique for them here; wading and chucking artificial's is the way to go.

This time of year, there is not much size to them. In a few weeks they will start getting a lot bigger.

Limited experience there. But around Port Deposit got a good number of channels-including one close to 20lbs on white gulp swimming grubs,

Just got back home. Lost a really good cat. Line broke and lost another one pound and a half(?) rock. Only caught a small cat. Other folks were about the same, it was a slow day. They never opened up more than 2 gates. A nice man gave me an old Diawa spinning real that made up for an over-all lack of fish. They said that the Rockfish are bitting every night around 8:00PM. The place closes an hour after dark.

Went again today, lots of water going over the Dam... 9 cats, average to small size... One guy got a 24" Rock, others were catching undersized "pups" Saw lots of big Rocks jumping. Caught a few WP and used on live-line. Good day fishing, Met some nice people, including a young fellow who I let haul in one of my fish!

Dude! Me too. I will check right now.

Conowingo dam release schedule number

888-457-4076

Morning until 2:00PM~2 small gates (boo!)

2-5:00PM~4 small units and 2 large units! (yeah!)

Maybe not based on this. Fishing will not perk up till the afternoon.

Edit: I think you might have meant the gates to the park! 4:55 AM

Went fishing the other day (Tuesday) People were really gettin into some good sized Rocks. The biggest I saw was about 32" (?) The trick is to fish whatever fast moving water you can find.

Big cats also in the fast water. I mean big! For them, cast across the fast water and use a heavy sinker. I was using a rock with duck tape and a bent piece of coat-hanger (not kidding) the rock skims across the top of the water as soon as you start pulling. This prevents snags, is much cheaper and better for the environment. I was getting snagged on every cast till I tried this.

Clam snouts, shrimp and minnows for the cats, chartreuse wiggle tails with a lead in-line sinker of about 1 -1 and 1/2 oz. for the Rock.

People were leaving with their limit all day long. Perch were bitting very scarcely. Don't know why, but very few perch right now and there should be a truck load.

Well, going back out today or tomorrow. Who knows, now that I have good technique, maybe I'll tare em up!
