Other than Quabbin, are there any places where you can rent a motor boat for fishing?

You could come down to Marshfield/Scituate and rent a boat from Mary's Boat Livery and fish from stripers on the North River.

Aside from the already mentioned Marshfield suggestion, the only other place I can think of is Salem Willows - there were boat rentals in the Quincy Bay area but haven't heard anything about them in quite a while...these are small skiffs with 9hp tiller steered motors

Freshwater - there's a couple I had forgot about. Both Hopkington Res and Lake Cotichuate from the Metro West area rents boats...although they're not ready to rent them out yet (I think it's an 'after Memorial Day' thing)

as I don't think Lake Cochituate rents out motor boats. It 's very simialr to the boat house on the Charles next door to the Marriot in Newton

You might check out the Concord Boat House - they may do motor boats in addition to canoes and if it's still around Tropicland in Dedham on Bridge street - Houghs Neck in Quincy might be an option

More are on the Cape if you are interested

You might be right about the motors - but they are full skiffs and not canoes (Meyer boats). Unfortunately Tropicland is gone (it's where I bought my Lund many years ago - since sold)
