Hi All,

I was wondering is anyone has ventured down to Scorton inlet recently. Last season the inlet and East Sandwich beach was flattened out along the surf line. A lot of sand was brought in. So much so that their was no sand bars at low tide last season and that was the first time I had seen that in 35 years.

Have this winters storms changed anything?

Regards,

Emil Melvin

Nothing has changed, the only bar is the pebble bar on the East side...

The bars were still there - if you were prepared to wade through waist deep water on a minus tide and have faith in your handheld GPS.

no fish though

severel storms have pushed sand over the dunes into the back side of the dunes.

The sand has covered some of the clam beds near the middle, but it is not to bad as of yet, but if it continues I am sure you will see a perminet breach near the same area.

Matter of fact two weeks ago when I went down to dig one area really had a large deposit that since that time has been reshaped and moved somewhat this past week when I went down to dig
