saxon59 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Share Posted December 28, 2009 Here in SE Mass mid April I will be out doing a bit of recon, experimenting with any new equipment,picking up schoolies with freshwater gear,numbers and size increase towards month end.May 1st start seriously fishing for migrating fish,earliest one I've caught 3rd May.Last season year 2009 was the latest ever for me 14May. NIGHT STRIKES Posted December 28, 2009 Report Share Posted December 28, 2009 It all depends on what the winter brings us here along the Jersey Coast.. Some years we have them in the backwaters (non-warm water outflows) as early as when the season opens ( March 1st.) Other years it may take later in the month or even early April.. Just how cold and how much snow we get over the next two months will determine exactly when those waters warm up enough for me to even take a look...
