hook sizes differences?

Whats the difference in hooks that show (#1 or 1/0's)?

Hook sizes are like this.
28,26,24,22,20,18,16,14,12,10,8,6,4,2,#1
T hey go from smaller to larger.
Now on the 0/0 sizes the go
1/0,2/0,3/0,4/0,5/0,6/0,7/0,8/0,9/0 & 10/0
Again smallest to largest. Hope this helps.......Ron

So is the #1 and the 1/0 the same size and weight?

No - #1 is smaller than a 1/0
This quote from the Mustad Hook Co.
"Hook Measurements
Unfortunately, there is no uniform system of hook measurements. Visual familiarity with the various hook patterns is the only workable gauge for the serious angler. Although attempts have been made to set a standard by measuring the hook in fractions of an inch, the system has never been successful because it merely represents the length of the shank. A hook is really two-dimensional since the gape can vary greatly from one pattern to the next.
Gape:
The distance between point and shank
Bite/throat:
The distance from the apex of the bend to its intersection with the gape.
Mustad measurements:
Mustad Hooks range in size from 19/0 down to 32.
Size 19/0 is the largest shark hook, size 32 is the smallest fly hook we make."

If you go to any of the Hook Manufacturers sites, you will find pictures of relative sizes and how they vary from style to style.
