Where to buy crawfish in mass and rhode island??

hey, i am looking for a place to buy live crawfish to eat. do any of guys know where i can buy them in rhode island or massachusetts. thanks, john

live ones would be hard to come by, unless you could maybe go through a wholesale bait dealer and see if one of his suppliers knows where there are some big ones

tom's wholesale bait in i think middleboro mass?

or find a stony pond and throw a few traps in- i know i guy who would get 500 a night

i can't imagine anybody shipping live ones up from down south though

I usually get them shipped up from Louisiana via overnight fed ex.
Even with shipping it comes out to about 10 bucks a pound. They are jumbo sized too.
The only problem is that live crawfish season runs from February till mid June. This coincides with the rice farming season since the rice farmers grow crawfish in their flooded rice paddies.

Google up CajunGrocer. They have frozen whole cooked crawfish available now.

I used to have them flown up from LA. They'd show up in burlap sacks ~50# per. You usually lose around 25%. They have so much bacteria that your hands swell up and turn red if you handle them but they sure make a hit at a party!
