I just got a few reels off of a friend of mine. One of them is a Abu 5600cl Rocket(orange sideplates). My Question is why is it called a Rocket? Is it the gear ratio 6.3:1 or is it the way it casts? I have 5500cl3 and all the guts look pretty much the same. Also the reel is in very good shape, what might it be worth? I did a search but this must be the older rocket model.
What should I use it for? I was thinking about putting it on like a 7' rod for plastics and small poppers. (Weakfish, snapperblues, schoolies) Any help would be great. Thanks, ROLLCAST

Honestly, i believe (based on no facts) that they are trying to gain leverage from the pro rocket series and the older sports rocket name recognition... COMPLETELY different reels.. In the words of my kids, i kinda think abu's gone "loopy" with all the wild variations..
Bottom line for me on an abu, i've learned to forget about the name of the reel and focus on
1) how many bearings
2) what retrieve speed
3) is it a palming sideplate or dual cast control.
