From several posts I gather the herring are now running full steam. When do the stripers and blues start coming in? I'll be looking to fish the canal, and later, the National Seashore.
I usually only get to the cape in mid-summer so timing doesn't matter, but now that I'm in the area I'm wondering when does the season actually start? Do the fish hit different parts of the cape at different times? Bayside versus ocean side? Is there a temperature that starts them or just the herring? Thanks guys.

Got my first 28+" fish of the season this week in Buzzards Bay, along with a few 24-25" from shore. I usually release the first few keeper size fish of the season hoping it will give me good Karma.
Kinda backfired on me though, I think, because as I crouched over to revive/release it a wave snuck up on me and crashed down on my head soaking me real good!

You need to be fishing... Nothing big yet but here to hoping and lot's of fun.
PS.. Tide is perfect but no seals on the river this AM. MAYBE they moved down to the cape for the summer.
