I'm going to thank the good folks at the Pure Fishing Reel Service Department by putting together a page outlining some of the wonderful things they've done for the members here. You can help say thank you by either relating a positive Pure Fishing service related story, no matter how brief - or by posting the link to a Pure Fishing service story you've already shared on this website

Your help would be most appreciated and I'd like to think that, if we can put together a big enough collective "thank you", the Pure Fishing folks will notice. And hopefully, that will help ensure that their service departments always have the resources to continue such outstanding service

So let's hear 'em

Show someone how to catch striped bass and they'll be ready to fish anywhere.
Show someone where to go striped bass fishing and you'll have a desperate report chaser with loose lips.
We love our stripers - please don't take more than yah need.

Bob from Pure Fishing hooked me up too with some parts for my ABU 6000.

I posted a picture of a part from my reel. Bob contacted Tim and asked me to email him. I emailed Bob, he was really helpful. I told him the reel was probably 15 years old or older. He told me the exact part number I would need, then sent them free of charge. In addition to the gear I needed he also included replacement screws and plate figuring I would need those parts too! I got the parts 3 days after the original post.

AUB parts

Now THAT is customer service !!!

Had a 5601C4 which I installed Winch gears in. Was having trouble before this with the freespool engaging when I turned the handle. SO I call them up, and decide what do I have to lose, I'll send them teh reel and see what they can do for me. I HATE letting other people fix my stuff, not because they are incapable, but becasue they don't tell you up front the charges.

Don't remember how long it took (wasn't very long at all) - I recieve a package with a brand new C4 Winch. They didn't bother fixing the broken one, just sent me a brand new reel.

Best part, there was no invoice, and no charge.

Bob Hulme and the boys at Pure Fishing have treated me like I was the most important customer they've ever had.

First time, on my ancient Abu 6, the pin that holds the anti-reverse cog thingie was bent by a cow that grabbed a bunker while I was out snagging bait (with the drag hammered down ). I was still fairly new at SOL and posted a question of where to get a new part. Bob PMs me and next thing I know there's a whole new sideplate in my mailbox.

Second time, I picked up a minty new 6500 Mag Elite in a trade (thanks Dubsie) but it did not have a levelwind. I call Bob to figure out what parts I need to buy to convert it. After a while of figuring he tells me "just send it in". A new levelwind reel is at my front door in a few days.

Just recently I sent in a pair of reels one of which was killed by running into a few hours of 20# class bass - we had gone out for fluke so I was severely undergunned with an XLT Syncro (made for flippin to LMB).
The other reel was a 6600 Black Max that from the day I bought it would occasionally and with no rhyme or reason decide that it didn't want to engage out of freespool.
I had both reels back within a week of sending them in. Here's Bobs reply:

"Hi Jerry,

Your reels are shipping back to you today. We were NOT able to pinpoint the problem with the 6600CL. It has been replaced with another 6600CL which does not have some evil anti fishing Mojo! Your 6600CL has been properly disposed of by the technician ATTEMPTING to repair it who, by the way, the last I saw, was headed towards the local liquor store!!"

Not once, even though I offered, was I ever charged for anything, not even shipping.
As far as I'm concerned there is no better company in terms of customer service than the Abu Garcia division of Pure Fishing. This committment to customer satisfaction (not to mention the outstanding quality of their reels) will absolutely keep me as a loyal customer.

I just wanta play everyday despite small nagging injuries --

I'm really easy to get along with once you people learn to see it my way.

Bob Hulme @ Pure Fishing went beyond the call of duty for me on at least three occassions in the last three + years. Broken reels ( which were sent for repairs) were replaced with brand new reels and extra line rollers were sent with the new reels. Turn around time was less than a week.

i call them often about oddball parts from 20 year old reels that i don't have the model number or sometimes the serial number off the reel foot for.. sometimes i'm trying to decide whether to buy a reel i've seen on that auction site and I know what parts i'll need but don't know if they are available.. i call them just for the info to decide whether to buy the reell.. then i get the part later....

they have ALWAYS taken the time to go through old catalogs, etc... to find what i need.. every order has been correct.. i've never been treated like a bother, even though I know they hate customers like me....

they ROCK!!!!!

I've never needed them and that's good too.

They own Abu Garcia, Berkeley, Fenwick, Mitchell and a bunch of other companies.

I had great customer service with them when I stripped at the Power handle bolt on an Abu 6500, replacing the part quick and free, and send along that smallest screw known to man that goes with it.
Very good company.

Last year around the Christmas rush I sent them two nautil 7500's and a letter explaining my problem and I also sent them an e-mail.
Well one week went bye with absolutely no response bye mail or e-mail and I started to get a little nervous. Then on the tenth day there were two brand new in the box nautils at my door. They were even good enough to take the spools with my braided line on them and send them back to me also, along with the new spools that came with the reels.
Great job bye the guys at Pure Fishing.
#1 in customer service as far as I'm concerned.

Excellent service... I mostly call for my Ambassadeur reels and they have been both courteous and knowledgeable over the years...they have even sent me parts for no charge on occasion…

PLEASE BRING BACK THE INTERNATIONAL AMBASSADEUR REELS--NON LEVEL WIND--6500 AND 7500 SIZE...
