FS: DAIWA POWERSURF QD 5500 + 5000 spare spool

11 posts in this topic

im selling my PowersurfQD 5500 spinning reel.

as ya all know, this reel is the next upgrade up from an Emblem Pro

one step down from a BasiaQD45 , and is on par with the US version Saltiga Surf reel. 35mm forward taper spool, NOT reverse taper like the Emblem.

its in good condition, there some paint rub off around the handle and a spot on the stem from use and spots here and there.

but in general, i tried to keep it in good condition, no gouges or 'WTH happen there' spots..

never dropped reel on concrete and such, so no 'damage' just the usual usage marks.

cosmetics i rate a humble 7.5/10

this reel has good mojo, pulled in 4ft sharks, bass, fluke, garbage bags, big green fish (seaweed), you name it. oodles with smooth cranking power.

and as usual, Daiwas great greased drag, smooooooth.

i just serviced, regreased and oiled the reel so its like butter right now.

currently has Cajun 20 or 25 on a spool.

has original box, and reel bag(not shown in pic)

and paperwork is in japanese..

one spool is a 5500 size, and one is a 5000 size.

ya thats the bad thing about roosters and what not,

you need at least a 5:1 for nice fast topwater skipping.

but anyways, 4:1 great for bait and CANAL jigging. youll laugh at that 4-5oz jig when you casted it about 200 yards out. lol
