Freshwater fishing locations around Milford, CT?

I know most people will say Kent etc., but is there anything closer to Milford that would provide some interesting fishing? I dont have any salt setups yet, so I will have to hold off on that!

look at a map of the area. theres plenty of ponds to try and fish..... the Maltby Lakes (new haven water supply ponds) are pretty good- but ya gotta get a (free) permit......

its all about da fishes...

Go to the Connecticut DEP web site and locate the Angler's Guide. It has a large list of fishing spots.

Take a ride one town over and see Chris at Stratford Bait and tackle, he is a great guy with alot of local knowledge for both salt and freshwater fishing. I suck at giving directions but you can call the shop, 377-8091 and they can give you directions to the store.
