Surf Fishing In St Augustine Or Crescent Beach

I'm Going To Be There This March.. Can You Tell Me Anything About Surf Fishing On Crescent Beach That Time Of Year Or Should I Leave My Stuff At Home... Will Be There For The Month... Need Help

In March our waters in the surf are warming up and the Pomps should be around. Also the inlet over there is good to hit, never know in March. As for bringing your gear....Bring it!! I rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Let us know what type of gear you have and than we can help you better.

I'm going to bring a surf rod and a could of 7 ft rods to fish the pier down town.. I bass fish tournments up here in Maine but don't do a lot of salt water fishing.. If someone can let me know what lure's to get or what i should be using it would be a help.. Can't wait for March... three weeks to go...

OH.. Last year I was there in March and went down to the pier and they we're catching whitting. That is why I'm going to bring a couple of 7 foot rods... I'm staying at Summer House condo's so will be close to the bridge if there is anything running there. thanks

Do you mean the st. Aug beach pier? If you want to fish off the beach bring the 7ft rods and bottom rigs with pyramid sinkers to hold through the surf.

johnson spoons 1/2 and 3/4 oz gold and sliver. red and white bucktails for snook. live shrimp catches everything. have fun

Thanks Bayman.... I'm going to be surf fishing most of the time... I'm counting down the days. Will be on crescent beach for the month.. I'm bass fish tournaments up here but salt water fishing is all new to me.. Again thanks

2 or 3 oz. should be fine unless the surf is big in which case you would need 4. You won't find many snook(I've never caught one in 15yrs) this far north because the water gets too cold in the winter but shrimp(live or dead) is a good bait to try most any time. A cast net is a good idea for catching live bait in the shallows as well.

Just got a call from someone down to crescent and said they are getting whiting and skarks right now.... let's hope more fish start coming in..
