Does anyone know how turn a picture in a word document into a jpeg or similar format

copy and paste it into MS Paint and save as a jpeg
to get to MS Paint:
START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>MS PAINT

I tried that before I posted, but Paint program says it can not open the word document. It is the whole document that my wife wants in a jpeg format. Thanks for the suggestion though.

or another stupid question, doe anyone know how to turn a word document into wallpaper for the computer screen.

Right click the image within the Word Document, choose Copy. Then launch MS Paint, and choose Edit, Paste. You should see your image within Paint now.

That wasnt your original question.
When you have the document open in Word, do a select all, and then paste that into MS PAINT. That MAY work.
