This is by far the biggest pike I have ever seen. This pike would most definately have broken the North American record of 45lbs and most likely the all tackle record of 55 lbs. And yes unfortunately I do not have any weights or measurements

WOW - no THAT is a BIG Northern !!!

Typically the largest fish caught (state records) that are thru the ice here in MA.

Any specifics on it? Great photo.

Good for him. Hopefully he got the measurements and gets credit for the catch (if that's important to him)

If I had a gun for every skunk I have drawn, I could arm a town the size of Abilene

It was not caught in North America. It was caught in Europe, the Netherlands, if I remember correctly. That pics has been bouncing around for a while and it never gets old to see how big European pike can get. There was a site that had more of the story but I can't find it right now.

they don't have to be that big to be a threat - i have seen a 35-40lb pike take down an adult swan in seconds with my own eyes in the UK.

Well guys I did some more digging. And it turns out that this pike was 44lbs not as big as I thought it was caught in Canada in Ontario in the Rainy river area.Im a little saddened to know the weight now that it is not a record

Wow, part of me dislikes and likes that! When I get to planning a UK trip I'll inquire on the whereabouts!

Incredible!!!
"Lucky" is a fictional character on the interwebs. Nothing "Lucky" says or does can be or should be construed as a real thought by an actual person. Objects in your rear view mirror may appear to be closer than they actually are.
