I fished Sunday for a few hits but no takers, it seems just as i HAD to leave the bite was starting to develop. So who's catchin fish? I'm not looking for your spot, just add onto this thread if you have been sucessful on Staten Island. Rod Building is an addiction, the N.E.R.B.S. help feed that addiction. StriperSniper
Haven't been out yet..the water still around 47 degrees but with this warm patch the next few days should start to turn things on a bit. You wanna look for a dark bottom and head out late morning to give the water a chance to warm up a bit. Billy 40
THere's no fish in SI, hence the lack of reports. Ralph78
You'd figure with all the water around here, there might just be a fish or two swimmin' around waiting to get a hook in her face. Billy 40
There's so much garbage and debris in the water teh fish cannot get close enough to SI for you to catch them. Plus the water is so dirty they cannot see anything. There are TONS od Bass right now by Sandy hook. I strongly suggest everyone from NJ go there, save teh $6.50 toll over teh bridges, save on gas, and have a much better shot at catching a fish. plus you dont' have to worry about getting your tires flattened by some MAfia fishermen from SI. gonefishing
Hi Ralph! Â My pal picked up a 3 bass to 25" so far on worms in GK during the week. He seen others taken this past Sunday at the same place. Don't know of anyone picking up on plugs yet. Â I won't be in the water until Good Friday the earliest. Ralph78
Billy your right I should just throw in the towel on fishing in Staten Island. Â Â Â Gonefishing, Long time no see. How are you? I haven't stopped by the "train" shop in years. I still have some of those bucktails I bought from you many moons ago. I hope all is well.
