Post Changes at Daiwa

Daiwa Seiko corporation has changed its name to GlobeRide Inc. The fishing tackle division (the core business) will still be called "Daiwa", while biking and gulf equipment are going to have new names.

That logo we know

Has been replaced by this

I'll miss the old one, but I like the new one better

So it no longer looks like they are committed to quality.

Oh No!!! I just decided to only buy their stuff for the foreseeable future and you go and tell us this?. I hope they don't mess with the Slosh or Saltist reels.

The letter D in the new logo looks strange, makes you want to read DIAIWA instead of DAIWA

There's a chance they will be committed to quality, just not total quality.

Does this mean I should buy a spare SS Whisker or 2 to stash away?-in case they decide to "improve", retool or worse discontinue. I don't like this...

Pretty bad PR slip on that one.

Their PR people should be publicly hanged.

I've noticed that the latest "Slosh" series 20 and 30 size reels have higher ratios than on older 20 and 30 size models.

Don't know enough to know if the change is desirable or not.

Weren't the older slower ratios, which offered a little more "winching power" just fine?

Hey alan......Would there be any reason why that new logo would look terribly familiar. I could swear I had seen it being used a while ago. But I can't put my finger it in regards to when and where. But I'm positive I have seen it...?

Daiwa has been busy this year. As megabass mor or ess is now an in house operation.
