Thumbs up Good news

Finally legislation in the senate. It is bill S 1557, and its companion bill the house HR718. Lets not get lazy by not calling, faxing, emailing. Ask your legislators to co-sponsor these bills. Do not accept form letters/evasive answers. Ask their stance on the issue and why they stand where they do.
On a personal note, what took so long? Perhaps they are introducing legislation and forgetting about us? Are they really worried more about plastic bags than people? I guess until it hits their bottom line they won't take notice?
Where are the businesses besides the tackle shops in Nags Head, KDH, Kitty Hawk, Carolla? It is very disheartening that most of the people who live there are not standing up for what is right.

THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL!!!!!!!!!

S.1557 - A bill to reinstate the Interim Management Strategy governing off-road vehicle use in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, North Carolina, pending the issuance of a final rule for off-road vehicle use by the National Park Service.

This is all I could find about what the bill actually means, and it is kind of vague. So what exactly does the bill entail? Can you explain it better to me?

Default IMS

This bill gives control of the CAPE HATTERAS NATIONAL SEASHORE RECREATION AREA, back to NPS and out of the hand of some special interest groups who don't want you on the beach at all, let alone with your vehicle. This bill would if passed be a SUBSTANTIAL victory towards the plight of keeping beaches free and open. Think of the ammo we could have then. Will this end a war? NO, but this is far from over. What does it take for people to make a few phone calls a month? We can fight this fight, and win, but not without help from EVERYONE!!!!! Comment is slated for this fall on the EIS among others, at least write a comment and mail it!!!!!!!!!
