Default How late is too late?

I have a reservation on Portsmouth island Nov. 20th. Has anyone fished it that late and can you catch good fish then? I'm sure the weather has alot to do with it. Anyone that has been down this time of the year 2nd or 3rd week of November please share your experiences good or bad. Thanks

I have made a few Thanksgiving trips and done very well on the catching. No Deet needed on any of my November trips but bring a heater and rain gear.

You have to be there to find out.Not being a wise azz either.Last year Turkey week on hatteras it was cool. Fishing was slow for us and most folks I talked to. Wore wadders and jacket most days.Year before 07 same week was shorts and T shirt. We caught a lot of fish.So it is a hard call ahead of time.Always worth it though.I'll be there again this fall.

Are the mullet and menhaden still around in numbers at this time where you can catch them with a cast net from the surf for bait? This could change how much bait I need to bring. Thanks

November is the best month for fishing of the year in the Morehead/Swansboro area.
