I have talked before about my trip the first week in August to Corola. I will be trying my hand at Surf fishing with an 8 wt colton rod with a teeny 200 line using clousers. surf candy and others that I have tied up. This is my biggest rod so I will be trying it . I was told to ask about fishing in the Sound. Being this is my first trip to NC. I am not sure where or how far it will be from where I am staying. But I am interested if there are good wading places and where they are. I am on a budget so I can not afford a guide. They don't pay well at the Baltimore City Fire Department but it is a hot job.

the better places to wade are around Oregon Inlet--which is about 40 miles south of Corolla. The sound behind Corolla is very shallow but stop in at TW's Bait and Tackle in Corolla they can help with fishing up there.
