Default murrells inlet fishing

im heading that way the last week in july and was wondering what the fishings like...are there places to surf fish..whats better throwing lures or chunk bait....any info would be greatly appreciated

In general the beach shelf gradually extends out into the ocean in the Myrtle Beach/Murrell's Inlet area due to the extensive beach renourishment projects. Surf fishing in SC is very limited because of this. However at the inlets there are jetties which you can fish from. Use Google earth. Stop by the Bass Pro in Myrtle Beach also and talk to Tom in the fishing area.
