Default fishing near newpoprt NC 28570

Is anyone familiar with the area? The Dr. my sister works for has a house in the area that he told her she can use to vacation whenever she wanted to. It is beach front. Anyone know what I can catch in those waters? According to my sister the beach area is somewhat shallow a ways out. I was able to get this address in the general area, its a church, the beaches I would be fishing are just south of it on the cost (google earth it if you want to help)

There are lots of places to fish around Newport. Unfortunatly in the area off board creek loop, unless the place you are staying has a pier, And even then it is a long cast to water deeper than a couple of feet. But a short drive will, you can be on the ocean, either at Atlantic Beach or Emerald Isle, depending on which way you go. There is limited access to bouge sound. At this time there are three fishing piers on the ocean. There are numerous public accesses to the ocean, some better than others. There is also a public pier on radio island, again not very deep water. There is Fort Macon State park on the east end of Bogue Island (Atlantic Beach).
As far as what there is to catch, it all depends on the time of year, I could for a long time but I'll keep this short, but if you have more questions, shoot me a PM and I'll be glad to help you more.
P.S. I live just off Broad creek loop.

Inshore you can catch red drum, speckled trout and flounder. These can also be caught in the surf or off the piers. The surf will also yield sea mullet, pompano and blues. the piers you can also catch spanish and king mackeral

thanks

My sister's DR said the water is shallow there, but that there's a pier that goes a ways out. Still trying to get the details, sounds like ti may be good fishing.
