Default What's the best dish you had for the Super Bowl?

It was my father's bday party more than the SB so it had to be the lasagna his wife made.

How about you?

Nothin!
I decided to make a jambalaya recipe out of Paul Prudhomme's family cookbook (remember the cookbook thread? I had it out.) I have looked at it for years and never done it.
It was ground beef, andouille, and cabbage. I did it well, dish came out done just fine, but it was quite bland and dull.
Would make a killer side dish, or an addition to a potluck table, but all alone? Snoozer.
Oh well. It really was good!

I didn't watch one second of the superbowl, but I did make some awesome pork, beef, and lamb dumplings with ginger, mirin, and green onions which I had over rice with a soy, sherry, rice wine vinegar, and apricot sauce.

I made corned beef and cabbage. It was a nice change of pace.

Didn't have much to chose from, but I got a pleasant surprise in that the chili my sister made and I have had frozen since Christams was pretty good.....not as good as mine, but a lot better than I expected.

Oh, and that commercial for "Forget the cheddar, Velvetta melts better" I have a bit of an issue with .....frigging stuff took five minutes in the microwave, and although I cut it in cubes, the edges were almost burnt before the middle was melted, and it got cold and became almost a solid mass within a few short minutes afterward......made "dipping" a bit of a chore....

At least my homemade tomatillo/tomato/onion/hot pepper salsa was outstanding, and the homemade guacamole wasn't bad, either.

Mix a can of the hot (spicy) Rotelle into the velveeta. Awesome dip.

I bought some baby back's but never made them last night, going to make em tonight.

Instead, we made a big thing of Belgian styled mussels in a big cast iron pot. Crusty bread to go with it

Also made a spicy homemade french onion dip with carmalized shallots...

Hot Rotelle? As in pasta??

I made a kickin' chili but it was not as hot as I thought it would be. Recipe is in the Chilie thread. We had it with beers

My brother made a gumbo that was awesome!!! It was NOLA authentic

In Texas at the Tex-Mex places, they called that chili con queso. I could eat bowls of the stuff.
