The only report I have is second hand, Rumors of bigger (3-6#) specks at night on mirrolures (NS & PD) fishing the pockets on southern Core banks. Other than that, the shore and near shore ocean seems void of life. I fished the Radio Island channel for whole falling tide and caught one spike about 10".

how bout the puppy drum and specks being caught around avalon and nags head pier? is that a rumor?

So when does everybody start showing up? when the fish do.when do fish shown up

all depends on the water temps--were some big bluefish off the beach two days ago. Think they have been snagging few trout in the surf. First of April things should pick up here on the northern beaches--we hope.
