Default Hatteras

Can anyone tell me what are the fees for an out of state 4x4 permit south of Nags head and the entire Hatteras Seashore. Is there 4 x4 access to Orgeon Inlet and or around Cape Point?

There are no fees and 4x4 access is allowed 24 hrs a day right now - access is open to oregon inlet and cape point. Depending on when you visit, there might be seasonal bird/turtle closures, night time driving bans and other restrictions. That bs will start again March 15th - Nov 15th. There is a $25.00 permit to drive the beaches of Nags Head though.

no fees for the 4x4 on the beach that I know of,
to fish you will need a permit, picked up at any tackle store,

check with any tackle stores on the Island or Nags head, all should be able to give you info on any questions you have

Forgot about the saltwater fishing license we now have. I think they offer a 1 week out of state for a reduced fee. Your best bet in nags head would be TW's.

I was told a couple of days ago that there is an article in the Coastland Times stating that a beach driving permit has just been passed and that it would be $30 a year. I don't have any other details as I have not read the article yet. IMO just another way to raise funds to pay the bird babysitters. I doubt the Pro-Access groups will see any benefit from it.

Thanks for the information about access to the beaches I gather that I can get the beach or 4x4 permit from the tackle stores.

I wouldn't bother with getting the permit for Nags Head, just park and walk over. The northern beaches are trecherous to say the least and the walkover is very, very short. IMHO just hit the southern beaches and drive to your hearts content, no permit needed.
