Default Assault weapons ban re-introduction.

Just in case anyone forgot or didn't know. Another "non-issue" that's coming up in 2008 led by the fearless elected representatives of Team Tofu is the Assault Weapons ban re-introduction.

http://www.thomas.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.6257
H.R.6257
Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2008 (Introduced in House)

But nothing to worry about. The mouthpieces for Team Tofu on this board told us it's no big deal. It hasn't even been passed and enforced yet, and no point paying any attention to it until after it's too late. .

It would seem Team Tofu is made up exclusively of Republicans...

Seems the GOP was ahead of the game, huh? (Or, maybe the Dem caucus put them up to it? Whatta ya think?)

Did you by any chance vote for Shays?

Don't know which, Chuckles, but you're right the sponsor and co-sponsors are RINO's.

For those of you who care about this, keep these guys in mind:

Rep. Mark Kirk [R, IL-10]and 4 Co-Sponsors
Rep. Michael Castle [R, DE-0]
Rep. Michael Ferguson [R, NJ-7
Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen [R, FL-18]
Rep. Christopher Shays [R, CT-4]

They're the knuckleheads behind this new piece of anti-gun legislation. That's REALLY bad news because I don't see many members of Team Tofu passing on a juicy gun-grabbing opportunity like this.

Thanks for pointing that out, Chuckles. This is such a clear democrat agenda that I mistakenly assumed it must be lefties sponsoring it.

Yeah, actually I did vote for Shays. But Himes won and he's way, way left of Shays who isn't exactly a hard-core conservative by any stretch of the imagination.

CT is as bad or worse than friggin' California when it comes to being overwhelmingly liberal.

So... blame yourself (or, maybe you're in on the non-partisan wave of the future, too ).

Anyone else on this board vote for one of these five?

Lieberman could only be considered a borderline Republican in a state as blue as CT. He wouldn't cut it as a republican in a red state. But then again, the Democrats moved to the extreme left and the Republicans moved into that vacant no-mans land in the middle instead of occupying the right like they should be.

Who knows. Maybe 2012 will be the year the Libertarians make a big splash, if not a win, on the national stage if the Republicans can't get their act together and remember what they're supposed to represent.

This bill is just more proof that conservatives have no representation at all in Washington.

Like the axeholes in Washington don't have anything more pressing to worry about than how to erode the 2nd ammendment further.

Certainly none that the fatcats in the RNC make any effort to cultivate.

Yet Team Tofu still lectures conservative Republicans that future Republican success lies in moving to the 'center'. That RINO'ism has worked wonders in the Northeast. Not one Republican representative left. I don't waste my votes on 'Diarrhea Lite'. Shays can rot in hell for all I care.

A new AWB may be a forgone conclusion. An unintended consequence, i.e. backlash, of 8 years of Bush hubris & monumental stupidity. It comes with the territory, and we're going to have to learn to deal & live with it, should it come to pass.

Pretty well put. The Reps are reaping what they have sown.

Every politician in this country is a traitor to the 2A. The Reps are just bigger liars. McCain and Bush were both onboard with the AWB btw.
