Guess you gotta do Howards pub. Don't forget the bug spray!! We stayed on the Island last year. Rented a house, but alot of stuff was closed due to offseason. Did I mention the bugs it took us another month to heal from all the scratching... Loved the island relaxing place. I can't even imagine it durring the summer.

You will love it.
Go to Tradewinds tackle shop, Alan & Melinda are great. They will point you in the right direction once you are there. And the will set you up with all the fishing stuff you will need.
Tell them I said hello.

As far as eating out, Howard's gives you a lot of choices and is always good.
So plan to eat there once.
My favorite place to eat is Jason's
Mango Loco is also great.
Everywhere else is too expensive.

Breakfast, go to the little gas station out close to Howard's.
They have good breakfast foods.
Lunch, go sit outside at the Jolly Rodger and drink you some mid day brews while enjoying the view.

Have a great time!

Give us a report when you get back.

I just got back yesterday from Ocracoke and I had a fried flounder combo at Pony Island Restaurant and it was so fresh as if it was caught that morning. They have a sign on the door that states they only serve NC Seafood.I dont eat at Howards anymore ,Just go for the Beer.

Yeah, we ate there one time for breakfast. (pony island)
The waitress was rude.
And the grits where cold and nasty.
So,….. I’m like how do you F up grits???

I’ll never go there again.
But hey, if you got a got a good flounder combo there, then there you are.

Also, another good place for breakfast is the Creekside Café’.
They have great breakfast wraps.

OK-Enough about the food let’s talk about the fishing……

Architeuthis, I want an update when you get home!
