Default corolla surf

Hello all. I am heading down to Corolla September 23-28. I would love to do some surf fishing while there. What is running in the surf? What baits/rigs are being used? Thanks

theres been a few reports of some puppy drum up there, along with blues and bottom fish ( spot sea mullet etc.) for the drum, i would use a fish finder rig with cut bait, like cut mullet. for the bottom fish, bloodworms and shrimp should work well with a simple botrtom rig. for the sea mullet, sand flees work well.

Default NW Wind

Staying in Carova for the next 2 and 1/2 weeks. I caught some spots, kept them for bait, and blues on Thursday, was holding with 10 and drifting swiftly with 6. Since then its been blowing 15-25mph out of the NW, water is up to the dunes, and its not supposed to stop until this upcoming Friday. Can someone air drop some beer?

It's game on after this wind drops off though.

Sitting here in Corolla right now...and it's blowing about 35 mph.

I brought a couple fly rods...forget it!!!!

I talked to a couple guys on the beach this morning who got two drum about 25 inches yesterday, and a small blue. But the surf is rough and muddy, and I've given up on fishing for my time here.

Mullet, I think. Local bait shops will fill you in.

But man, it is REALLY howling out there right now!!
