WOW! New State Record

A 1,228.5 Blue Marlin was brought to the scales in the Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament in Nags Head on Friday.The current State record was 1,142 lbs.

Yep, word on the street was that some of the local captains have seen a "2000 pounder" free jumping on bait out there the last couple weeks. That mighta been the one they saw. Personally, I'm convinced we have a 2000 pounder 'or two' cruising out there on occasion.

I think the payout was $500K. There is a website for the tournament with more pics and such.
