Default So what happens now that the point is opened?

Will they close it again next year from 5/1 thru 7/31 again?

Will new legislation be passed? Do the bird nuts want new legislation when they already got what they wanted?

There are no guarantees of anything being open if it falls under nps jurisdiction. They just reclosed s point of ocracoke due to an audoban member finding a week old tern chick. Check tradewinds site - no joke.

When did all this happen? It is like I woke up one morning and now we all live in bizarro world. When did these Associations like the Audubon and sierra club turn into the enemy? Next ducks unlimited will be against hunting And the NRA will be for gun control. They use to be with us fisherman and hunters. Now they don't need us anymore so they throw us down on the tracks.

The environmental lobby is getting so strong as well as so single minded that they no longer need Ducks Unlimited or any of the old affiliates they used to curry favor with.
Yes we have officially been tossed under the bus.
Derb Carter, Jason Rylander and the rest of the green mobs are not finding it as easy to get rid of us as they thought. I truly believe that after the initial shock wore off they expected the Redneck, Beer drinking, Bums to go in piece and let them have the beach to themselves. This is going to be a long fight and in the end maybe twenty years or so they will win this battle. I however am not about to take these thefts sitting on my butt, If they do get it, it won't be cheep.
It isn’t about the birds.
