Default Hatteras Fishing Report

  • Caught about a dozen blues 10"-14" at Hatteras Inlet the last two night combined. All on the local pink/white stingsilvers.
  • Caught one or two real small blues out front in the morning.
  • At Hatteras Inlet yesterday morning a young kid hooks something huge on shrimp. We thought he had a skate until it kept fighting.
  • He lands a really nice red. About 46" and fat as a pig.
  • They didn't know what to do with it so I walked in and scooped up the fish with two arms under him.
  • Took some pictures for them and then I revived the fish for about 5 minutes before she swam away.
  • She swam away with a head of steam so I hoped she made it.
  • I have a pic on my phone of the kid and his fish I'll post when I return.
THEY OPENED THE POINT on Weds.!!

Default Come on over and have a few...

  • OK, here was the drinking menu for my week
  • Budwesier night and day Mon, Tues and Weds.
  • Tired of beer by Weds evening and switched to some Cabernet
  • Thursday Buds on the beach and Kettle One on the rocks with lemon wedge all night long
  • Friday morning was a vodka fog if you know what I mean but managed some beer late afternoon and then it was party time...
  • Had my wifes birthday party and dinner on the beach last night so it was beer and champagne with Shrimp, Bubbas Chicken and Pizza.
I'm typing this on Sat. morning and just got back from Hatteras Inlet again. Got 3 spanish from 16"-20". Kept them for some eats tonight.
Heading back to Pa tomorrow.

Default Here's the red the kid caught last Weds....

This kid caught this red on a piece of shrimp. He didn't know what the fish was or how to land it. I walked in and scooped it up out of the sound, took pics and I revived it for him ASAP. They had no idea what they were doing but I was really happy of him. I've been down there 12 of the last 15 years and never got one of these
