Default another question from the outta stater.. LOL

Ill be fishing sunrise and sundown looking for blues, spanish, trout etc and gonna chunk them up at night for sharks.. question is, how much weight do I need to throw on the Ocean side (on a normal night).. I have 8,10 oz hatteras style, but should I bring my 4's and 6's???

thanks.. I cant wait to get down there.. t-4 days...

sure bring the lighter weights, sometimes you can get away with 6. or if you use lighter gear you wont throw that far so you ownt need 8 or 10 usually.

Also be careful with chunking spanish trout up etc. the man frowns on that.

good to know, obviously, I am not going to break the rules, just going by what people are telling me.. Im sure Ill get the reg's when I get down there.

thanks John..

any recommendations on pier fishing? is there one better than others.. I see that most piers have "other" stuff for kids to do.. Ill have ma wife and 2 daughters with me, so if there is one with cool things to do, I guess I'd go there..

BC, I am heading down on the 18th. Yankee invasion

Bring a variety of weights, you never know what mother nature is going to do. Don't limit your sharking to just night time. Last year my biggest one came mid day. I stay off the piers, no need to pay an admission fee when the fishing is great from the sand. Good luck and have fun.

where ya staying???? I'll be on the beach in Duck.. This isnt a fishing vacation. its family, so my free time will be night time.. its cool though, Im looking forward to it big time..

I will be on Oak Island. I think thats way south of where you are. This is a family vacation for me too. I fish and my wife collects sea shells. Have fun
