National Park Service has a campground right at Oregon Inlet. Basic services. Might be wrong but I think you have to move to the Fishing center to dump your waste. Showers. Some tent spots but you'd need some serious anchors. First come, first serve - no reservations for less than 7 campers.

Default Camping

Actually,
there are a few places to camp from the nps and a few family style campgrounds. However, renting a house down there for a week is not that expensive. We usually get a house for a reasonable weekly rate (reasonable depending on time of year) but if you share a few nights with some friends, even in peak season you would get out less than $200/wk per person. Places to fish are somewhat scarce right now besides the general public access areas. I would encourage everyone here that fishes obx or vacations there to do a little research on the issues the island and its local communities are experiencing right now with orv access. They can use as much support as possible.

Angry camp ground

Just go to www.friscowoods.com .good clean camp ground and right on the sound. Federal camp grounds don't have hot showers and close first of October. Take it from one who has been there many times. If you are tent camping be sure and set up on high ground hurricane season you know.
