Default Avalon Pier

I used to always go to the Avalon Pier website for detailed daily fishing reports. This year to date, they have only logged three reports so I am wondering what is up. I don't think they closed. They logged reports as early as March 17 last year so I doubt that it's because they have only had three days of catching. Any thoughts as to what these usually informative people have been up to this year?

hey jerkjigger,
How is Frisco pier (is it still there)? We're staying in hatteras next week and would like to heave off the pier for the off chance at a drum or cobia. Would also like to sling some metal for spanish but I would usually drive to the rodanthe pier for that. Any suggestions?

im thinkin its a little too early for spanish and cobe.
however, i was talkin with a friend who lives down there and he said these exact words........"i was talking to cpt. mike at the stop'n shop yesterday and he said that a 54" cobia was caught from ocracoke thursday or friday and a couple more from a boat (he doesn't know how far out). and he said he was talking to a friend in georga that said they're slayin'em right now.".......this is no rumor.....we're 100% sure on this one.

Yes, I know. They're on the drum pretty big (or were until beach was closed) and someone took a cobia off the point over the weekend. I've gone down first week of may and hit spanish off the point, however, I don't know about the pier.

idk about frisco pier, but i do think its still there. it may be a tad bit early for spanish. you could heave off the end, and you might get lucky, but idk if you'll ook into a drum, better off goin to te point, but u cant do that.
