Down here in Atlantic Beach, the bigger blues (6 to 14 #) have been on fire for the last three days. It's (IMO) some of the best bluefish fishing in ten years. I haven't been able to get out yet due to work at the tackle shop but been weighting up a bunch. I'm hoping to get out there today before the front comes through. I also heard of two cobia coming off the rocks down by the Hutton. Also saw a cooler load of mullet (whitting) that came from the beach next to the Coast Guard fence at Fort Macon.

Just finished cleaning up the tackle, you know that saying "you should have been here yesterday.......Well it's true!" Fished a hour and a half of the in coming tide till two hours on the falling tide. Only caught one blue about five pounds, all head ,skinny body and a smaller shark (atlantic sharp nose). didn't see anybody else catch anything up and down the beach. I guess that front most of turned then off. Maybe next time when I get a day off and it's not blowing a gale and raining buckets I'll get back out there.
I still say even a slow day on the beach fishing is better than a day at the tackle shop.
