Seems most people wacky rig them, but I've had little success with senkos until I recently started texas rigging them. Just curious to see if others have had better success texas rigging as well

I fish them Texas rigged just about all the time. About the only time I have used them wacky style is when the get torn up and I switch it up to get a few more cast out of the worm. I generally don't fish them wacky because i usually get about the same amount of bites Texas rigged and they don't tear as quickly. I did read on here in another thread that you can put o-rings around them and run the hook through the o-ring, I'm gonna try that just have to go get some o-ring

last year i only rigged weightless, and got quite a few fish on that, but yesterday i was killing 'em with a wacky rig. i got more fish than my friend who i was fishing with, but he got the pig of the day on a Yamamoto kreature.

I use wacky style rigging and they rip more or get ripped off during the fight.
I tried the O-ring but the action is just not the same. Fish don't like it as well. I started buying Senko copies in bulk from e-bay to stop from going broke buying senkos.

I think Texas is more effective, but I feel the "take" better when it's wacky so that's how I fish it.

my friend and i often debate about it....but the wacky rig seems to work more....its probably better to use a senko as a jerkbait than to deadstick it.

They also sell small rubber bands that work to keep the hook on and not tear the baits so easily. O rings, metal or plastic is what I use and they last a lot longer this way fishing it whacky style.

I've been using them t-rigged since they swim so nicely. I've only rigged wacky a few times and seem to get hung up and rip the thing in half trying to get it free. Unless outside the weed line is clear or there's a shadow line that doesn't have structure I'll t-rig. My 2c.

I use them both ways but for me Texas rigged without a weight produces many more big fish. My favorite way to fish it is a 5" Senko Texas rigged on a 4/0 Gami offset worm hook in as much junk as possible. The thicker the wood or grass the better.

I use "zip" ties on mine, have not had one tear yet! The REALLY small ones, nip the end and then slip hook between tie and worm, works great. ![]()

Do you guys remember the Jersey Rig worm? Like a Senko, but it had an even taper throughout. I fish them wacky style, and they just don't rip like Senkos. I bought alot back in the day. I am not sure if they are even made anymore. At one time the term, "Jersey rigging" was more popular then "wacky rigging". I could easily catch between 6 and 9 fish on a single worm.
I love Senkos, but they just rip too easy.
