Default Oregon Inlet?

Any action from the surf near Oregon Inlet? I am planning for a trip in a few weeks! By all of my reading, I see that this drive on area will still be open? Is that correct?

Anyway, I am hoping to catch whatever bites really! I know Avon/Buxton is better but I am one for avoiding a crowd. What can I expect (besides sand and surf)?

Some of it might be open - we have to wait until judge boyle comes down w/ a decision. As of yesterday, orv and foot access to the pond on the n side by the bridge is cut off - stakes are in the water to mark off the bird zone.

Just ask the birdwatchers' lawyers what they are going to do.

They are calling all the shots.

The part of the beach parallel to the bridge is closed half way down to the bait pond. The main area is not built up very high this year, so at high tide most access is flooded out, in fact the prenesting enclosure is mostly standing water after the tide drops.

So mostly you can't get there, if you get there, you can't stay there.

Default Other Options?

So with the tidal surge and closures, I guess I will be looking for another place to try. Any suggestions other than the Point? I don't know a lot about points and access ramps south of Oregon Inlet.

Try Bodie Lighthouse or the Prop Slough......
