Default Part of my letter to Toyota

I tried posting this on the RDT forum, but it didn't work. This was in response to a link on the RDT forum to Toyota's Audobon contribution reply.

"Well, I think that its mostly been said. Your response was total BS.
I support conservation as much as anyone. I believe in saving our natural resources, SO THAT PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO ENJOY THEM.

But, that is not what Audobon is about anymore.

I hope that you've realized by now that you have stepped in it in a big way.

My experience with Toyota goes back a long time. My Dad was service manager at a Toyota dealership until he retired, and I worked at the same dealership for several years as a mechanic.

There is no doubt in our exended family that Toyota builds quality vehicles. I couldn't guess how many Toyotas have been in our family for the past 35 years.

Our family reunions look like a Toyota car lot.

In fact, my wife has driven nothing other than Toyotas for the last 30+ years. She's been talking lately about trading her Camry in for a new Avalon.

Given your support of Audobon, and your poor response to the concerns of the people who buy and use your products, I suspect that this Camry may be the last Toyota to sit in my driveway.

You can mend this travesty by doing a few things:

1. Withdraw your support of Audobon, and publicly demand your money back.

2. Make a significant contribution to the organizations that are trying to keep ORV use open.

3. Issue a public apology for the mistake.

Yeah, I was probably wasting my time with that, but I feel better.

Wasting your time....NOT!
That is a great letter,Duane.
Toyota is getting absolutely HAMMERED on their website by loyal customers like you.
They are not the type of outfit that will stand by,lose customers and passively watch their image being ruined.
I would venture that they are paying very close attention to the AS lawsuit at this point, and searching for a way to avoid more negative press.
Toyota may be the ONLY party involved in the conflict that could actually make AS take a rational approach.

Yup - I certainly sent them a message demanding an equal financial contribution to our representatives as well.

We have to be the squeeky wheel and not stop until justice is obtained.

I don't know if your letter was a waste of time or not, but by posting here you have raised the issue to the top of the pile on a web site with 12-16,000 members who buy cars. If Toyota doesn't care about that then they have a problem beacuse 70% of their revenue comes from the US.
