First of all, I'm new to these forums. I'm from Wilmington, NC and I've been freshwater fishing for a while now and although I have fished saltwater throughout my lifetime (Im 23 so I'm not that experienced) I've never gotten into it heavily. I'm trying to get a setup for mostly boat/inshore fishing. I think I'm going to just go ahead and get an ugly stik tiger lite. I know they are affordable and durable and I'm pretty set on getting one unless anyone can suggest something better for a similar price. I'm just not sure what reel I want to get for the type of fishing I plan on doing. I would like to do some flounder fishing but have a setup that can be used for other purposes as well. Im currently looking at either an abu garcia 6500 or a shimano baitrunner 6500 or maybe the 4500, but I can't decide if I want a casting combo or spinning. I'm used to fishing with a baitcaster in freshwater and I like the feel of it, but Im not sure if the spinning reel would be better for general-purpose saltwater applications.
Any advice or input to help me decide would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by Moldo : 04-11-2008 at 12:45 AM. |
