shark fishing this summer

was gonna post this in slayers thread but i think ill just start my own instead of jacking his. anyways, im coming down to south nags head for the first 2 weeks of july this year, and am planning on doing some sharking from the beach and/or outer banks fishing pier. i got a 14/0 senator loaded with about 1500 yards of 150lb braid to 130lb mono, and a smaller combo with about 500 yards of 40lb line. cant use the big one off the outer banks fishing pier so i can atleast use the smaller one if i feel like pier fishing late at night. but to get to my point, i was wondering if any of you guys would want to join me for some sharkin from the beach because i dont really have anyone else to go with. so if your in just let me know so we can work somethin out

I kingfish at the OBX pier all summer, if I'm not here it'll be unexpected.
by the way July 12 is my birthday!

i come down with my family but the last few times weve come down it has turned more and more into a fishing trip for me. dying to use the 14/0 but ill have to do it from the beach cuz they didnt let me use it off the pier. your welcome to join me if you want.

the bigest they'll let you use of the pier is a 9/0. do you hav a kayak to get the bait out, floating it out from shore can ge hard.

na i dont have a kayak. i just float it out when the winds right, which is a pain in the ass. i didnt even get to use the 14 last year, just used the smaller reel cuz it was too hard floating a 10lb tuna head from shore. u got a yak??

Cobia, you ever shark fish from the surf? I saw a pretty informative piece on selecting the right leader/making one. Found it here... http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=BlacktipHunter1. I was thinking about setting a rig up just for this, I own a penn senator but it's only 3/0 so 350 of 30lb mono is about all I would be able to get on it. Think that's enough? Probably won't catch anything but it would be fun to, might as well throw one out there and let it sit. But what setup do you usually use?
