That said, what is a clay bar, and what would the toadmeister do about swirl marks on a black car?
Is this thing on?

I googled up Klasse and got to Autopia but don't see any discounts for the month ... guess I'm not finding the right website ... can you be more specific?

I've been to the site. Too many guido's and their iroc's. It's all so very bizzare.

Really, what does the clay thing do, and how do I get rid of swirl marks on a black car. I've got pasty white kids that need allowance chores. Think of the children.

Clay bar is a surface cleaner removes inpuritues/contaminents from your paint. Sap, bird sh--, and general road grime imbed themselves in your paint over time.

As for the removal of swirl marks on black.....
How bad are the swirls? Light? Moderate? Are you planning to do it yourself? The best course of action may be to take it to a reputable detail place. My self and most other I know use random orbital buffers with a matching swirl remover to take care of them. If you've never used a buffer before you have the potential to mess up your paint big time.

Red face

Yeah, I'm not about to attempt buffing with anything mechanical. I know the damage that can occur. It kills me to spend $100 or more to have it done.

Thanks. Yeah, there is no way I'm doing that. Besides, it doesn't work on swirl marks.

What kind of swirl marks are you getting? When I do my truck I never see any swirl marks, unless I do it fast and halfassed, but then it just looks like crap anyways.

I don't know...they are swirl marks. It only happens on the black car. I'm just going to have it detailed, this way they can compound it or whatever with the machine and give it a good wax coating. I'll try and keep up with regular washing and waxing after that.
