There are some here who use the Pentax Optio cameras and pretty much swear by them. The results I have seen are pretty impressive. I think not too expensive either.

Compare it to the Olympus 770 SW before you get the 790.

From what the guy told me at 6th ave the 790 is not simply the next step up from the 770.
He told me it was not as tough built, hence why it's cheaper priced.

They have the Olympus 790 on amazon for $244. I personally have the 770 and my sister has the 790. I love the look of mine a lot better because it looks and feels more solid, but at the same time her camera is stated to have the same exact crush and shock resistant ratings, and her "operating system" is so much easier and less frustrating to use. In all honesty if I had a chance I would have gotten the 790 because of how easy it is to operate(unless you can find the 770 cheaper ) Either way both cameras are awesome!

These are a couple pics I took of a tiny smallmouth, not that great cuz the water was a little murky but I think they came out really sweet :

Yea iv looked at the 770 and it is like $100 more or so. But I think the 790 will get the job done just fine. I don't really plan on going all out and becoming a professional photographer where i need the best of the best.

I got one at west marine last week, with a flash, good for depths up to 100', guaranteed satisfaction, for $20. It's not digital, but I can get the film developed to digital output. How can you go wrong?

I have the Olympus Stylus 770 SW and it !!

Waterproof to 30'
Shock resistant to 6'
7.1 megapixels

Takes really great photos. Mine goes out on the rocks Montauk, constantly underwater and knocked around and has held up perfectly.

We just bought another one as a Christmas gift. According to the guy at the camera shop, rumor has it that the demand for a camera that goes this deep wasn't high enough and it's being discontinued. If you want one you'd better get it now.

I also have the 770SW, and think it is totally bulletproof in and out of the water. Spend the extra money, and get the best. As far as picture quality
I would say it is mediocre. This camera performs it's best outdoors. Good luck
