Updated report…for the last 3 days I have fished w/ bait and lures…caught nothing but a few Skates and some Dog Fish…water is 52 degrees. Same story w/ the few other fishers I have spoken to…
I thought it was slow last last week when I caught a couple Striped Bass after trying hard for several days...this week its even slower... Nice weather though… So, I am taking a rest, pursuing the internet w/ my portable lap top before heading out later… Poppy |

From what I have heard 2nd hand the beach netters (haul seiners) are not catching them either. Sounds like the bite for big fish has been on at the cbbt if you are into the boat thing..

Well, I finished out the week fishing Thurday night and Friday morning...again nothing!
This is not good because water temps are in the low 50's...once the water falls below 50 degrees the Stripers will start to move off shore and/or or further south to Cape Point... If there's bait near shore that might keep them within reach of the surf fisherman into the new year... Poppy |

Steve...I had frozen Bunker from earlier in December...but TW's had some... This time of the year, fresh bait is going to be hard to find...depends if the waterman can get out and if the bait is around... The waterman out of Hatteras Inlet seem to do better finding Bunker in the winter months down there...
