OBX This Weekend... Thoughts?

A buddy and I were planning on making the trip south to the OBX this weekend. We were planning to fish the surf near Oregan Inlet. Would that be a good place to start? We don't really care what we catch, but we'd prefer not to tangle with the experts down on the point. Any chance here at some specs, blues, puppy drum, black drum, or sharks??? Any suggestions?

what exactly are the tournment grounds? At the Cape? Point at Buxton? or North Beaches too?

the same... NPS rules for all tourneys, no tourneys are allowed within 1/2 mi. of any inlet or Cape Point.
