It's a 12'6" TFO Professional series. Two handed rod I use for overhand casting. Really sling some string. Best way to do the trout on the beach thing and use a fly rod (which is my preferred way to do it) I used to use a spinning rod at this time of year for this fishing but after skunking the guys using Mirrolures and different jigs yesterday, I think I will stick with the flypole.

Hey Guy I am going to be in buxton with a 4x4 and a flyrod this Saturday and Sunday. any hot flys to use for specks and would i be better off fishing in Buxton or south. I hear the stripers have landed a little further north, but i am more interested in a few specks i have never caught one before in the surf on a fly. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Would i be better off targeting the stripes? I dont want any specific spots but would like to know what to look for and what kind of surf conditions they like best.
Thanks in advance
Jim

Nice. Beautiful, fun to fight, and tasty. It doesn't get any better.
